Our single vineyard is a gently sloping 22 acre parcel of land located on the Main Road (Route 25 on the North Fork of Long Island). From the vegetable and fig gardens — as well as the plethora of roses and hydrangea herb gardens — nature is incorporated into every element at Mattebella Vineyards. The certified sustainable farm never uses herbicides; only organic fertilizer is used and grapes are handpicked. The field is mostly hand-tended, too. That’s certainly the case at Mattebella Vineyards, a 15-acre family winery tucked away down a dirt driveway off Main Road in Southold. At Mattebella, farming has always come first.
